How it works

At the end of each working day, all income received — via GoCardless, Stripe, or the till — transfers into Xero automatically. Income split by payment type (cash, card, cheque, Direct Debit) no longer needs manual updating by you or your bookkeeper. Nominal codes can be applied to membership plans and products for more detailed, accurate reporting.

About Xero

Xero is a world-leading online accounting platform for small business. Get a real-time view of cash flow from anywhere, reconcile bank transactions in seconds, send online invoices and get notified when they're opened, and run the business on the go from its mobile app.

The accounting software your accountant already knows

Xero is online accounting software for small businesses, and it is common enough in the UK that most accountants and bookkeepers already work in it daily. Bank feeds pull transactions in from the major UK banks, and Xero learns how you code things, so recurring items start suggesting themselves. Invoices, bills, expenses and reports all live in the same place, with a mobile app for the bits you end up doing standing in a car park.

VAT and Making Tax Digital

VAT returns are prepared from your transaction data and filed straight to HMRC from inside Xero, with no separate bridging software involved. That matters for a club that has crossed the VAT threshold and is suddenly filing every quarter. Your accountant can be given access to the same live file rather than being sent a spreadsheet at year end, which tends to shorten both the annual conversation and the bill that follows it.

Get your nominal codes right first

Because ClubRight posts a daily summary into Xero rather than every single transaction, how useful the numbers are depends on how your nominal codes are set up. Give memberships, joining fees, class packs and retail their own codes before you switch it on, and your profit and loss will show you which part of the business is actually growing. Do it afterwards and somebody has to re-code the lot.

FAQ

Xero and ClubRight

Does Xero integrate with ClubRight?
Yes. The integration posts daily accounting records to Xero through Manual Journals, without flooding your account with transactional detail.
What does Xero do?
Cloud accounting software for small businesses.
Do I have to use Xero to use ClubRight?
No. Nothing in the ClubRight Connect directory is a requirement and nothing is tied to your account. Use your own supplier if you already have one — the directory exists to save you the research, not to steer you.
Does ClubRight charge extra for this?
No — ClubRight doesn’t add a fee for a partner being listed or connected. Whatever Xero charges for their own product is between you and them. Nobody pays to appear in this directory.
