About ClubRight
ClubRight makes membership management software for gyms, fitness clubs, martial arts schools and boxing clubs across the UK and Ireland. More than 1,000 clubs use it. We were founded in Essex by someone who ran a gym and got tired of software built by people who never had.
Club owners talk to each other constantly, in groups, comments and messages. We want to be a bigger part of that conversation, and that is where you come in.
The role
This is a new, dedicated social and community role.
Real relationships built in these communities turn into clients. Now we want someone whose whole job is doing it well.
It is hands-on. You will be in the channels most days, reading what owners post and talking to them.
Club owners don’t need another software company in their feed. They need someone worth following.
This is a chance to grow your marketing career at a fast-growing company, with real ownership from the start. Success here means more clubs getting to know us, trusting us and choosing us.
What you’ll do
The core of the job
- Talk to club owners where they are. Reply to the comments and messages that come in on our own channels, and go to the owners too: follow independent gyms, martial arts academies and boxing clubs, and engage properly with what they post. Not “great post”. A club celebrating a grading, opening a second site or venting about unpaid memberships is a chance to say something worth reading. Quality comes first.
- Give our channels a voice. Own the content calendar and create what we post on our social channels. We want them to sound like a person, not a software company: confident, warm and with a point of view that club owners notice and want to talk back to. You will work within our brand guidelines and bring new ideas on platforms, formats, tone and what owners actually want to see.
- Feed intelligence to sales. When you spot a club opening a second site, refurbishing, changing management or complaining about its software, our business development team hears about it before they pick up the phone. “I saw you’re opening in Chelmsford” lands very differently from a cold call.
Alongside it
- Be useful in the places owners ask each other for advice. Reddit, Quora and Capterra are a good start, but owners also gather in forums, groups and communities we haven’t found yet. Part of the job is finding them, working out where owners really go for answers (including the ones AI assistants draw on), and helping properly there.
- Look after our reputation online. Keep an eye on what people say about ClubRight on review sites, in communities and on social, and reply to reviews, good and bad, in a way that sounds like us. Share praise with the team, and pass anything that needs fixing to Customer Experience so the right person picks it up quickly. Good feedback can become content, with the client’s say-so.
Once the day to day is running
- Get our founder onto podcasts and panels. Build the target list and secure the bookings. A former gym owner building software for clubs is a story worth telling on other people’s shows.
What we’re looking for
- You have some commercial experience in marketing, social or content, and you want to take on more. You take initiative, act on feedback and want to grow with us.
- You understand how gyms, martial arts academies and boxing clubs work, or you care about the industry and will learn it fast.
- You write the way people actually talk. Clear and direct, with real personality.
- You create content with personality, the kind people stop scrolling for: writing, photos and short video.
- You have sound judgement about what to say, when to say it and who should handle it.
- You live on social media and pay attention to why some posts take off and others don’t.
- You embrace AI and new tools, and you are always testing something new to make better creative, faster.
- You are a self-starter. Nobody will hand you a list of clubs or communities.
You could come from several places: fitness or leisure marketing, a social or content role at a brand or agency that wants to specialise, a creator who knows the industry and how to make people stop scrolling, or someone from inside a club who has built real marketing skills. What matters is knowing what’s worth saying to a club owner, and saying it well.
Where this role hands over
- Conversations that turn commercial go to the sales team, who book the demo. You carry no sales target.
- Paid advertising sits with our acquisition marketing manager.
- Customer Experience looks after any client who needs support. You reply publicly, then hand the issue to them to resolve.
- You will have brand guidelines to work from, and room to help shape how the voice develops.
Salary and benefits
£32,000 a year, plus a bonus linked to your own goals and a quarterly team bonus. Full time, Monday to Friday, with no evening or weekend work. You report to the Commercial Director.
- All the tools and equipment you need to do the job well
- A training budget
- A workplace pension
- 22 days’ paid holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 25 the longer you stay with us
To apply
Three questions, your CV, and a cover letter if you want to send one. We care more about your attitude and drive than a long CV. If you haven’t done some of this before, give it your best shot. We learn more from your answers than from a covering letter.
Thanks, it’s with us.
We read every application. If there’s a fit we’ll be in touch on the email you gave us.
